i-stor utilises
Brightstor Arcserve for Laptops & Desktops from CA, one of the
largest software companies in the world which means that you can
be confident that i-stor will provide the best of breed reliability,
performance and features, both now and in the future.
i-stor infrastructure
is provided in partnership with NTT (Nippon Telephony & Telegraph),
the worlds largest telecommunications company.
Easy to Install and
Configure. Individual users can simply install the service using
the intuitive set up wizard for the ultimate out-of-the-box experience.
Low Bandwidth Optimisation. Rather than transmitting entire files,
only byte-level or block-level file changes are backed up. In addition,
the data is compressed before transmission to the i-stor backup servers.
The user can also specify that the backup occurs only when the machine
is not in use. Other advance features, such as bandwidth throttling,
means that the on-line backup uses only a fraction of the Internet
bandwidth available to the PC.
Disconnected Backup and Restore. Initiates
the backup process without an Internet connection, processing file
changes according to the user’s backup set and storing them for transmission when an Internet connection is available. This helps ensure that backups and restores occur regardless of the user’s
environment or location.
Open File Agent. Allows users to backup
all information, even if it is in use.
Point in Time File Restorations.
The restoration functions also include an easy to use search facility
which allows users to restore files by version or date, providing
a point-in-time restoration of the information in case of virus,
deletions or file corruption.
Recovery of Multiple Revisions. The
number of revisions stored of each file is simple to set up. The block-/byte-level
tracking minimizes the amount of space required to store multiple versions
of files.
Deleted File Retention Rules. Provides the option to keep
deleted files for a period of time, keep them indefinitely or remove
them permanently.
Data Encryption Protects the information as it is
transmitted to the i-stor servers over the Internet. |
